I am Bishamon Group Restaurants’ Internet Manager. Basically I create and update all of the websites, manage email accounts, social networking accounts, print work, some photography when asked. I watch for reviews, blogs, and videos that surface about our restaurants. A lot of it boils down to marketing, and customer satisfaction. I sit in the middle between the company and the customer, and gather information on what works, and what we can improve on.

I have been working for Bishamon Group Restaurants since February 1999, back when it was only Bishamon Japanese Restaurant in Covina. At that time the owner was still the sushi chef, running the sushi bar himself. I started as dishwasher part-time, and was soon promoted to “driver” for Bishamon’s Catering department. We catered sushi to high-end hotels such as the Ritz-Cartlon, etc. Later I took over as Catering Manager for quite a while.. and now Internet Manager full-time for the last couple years.

My background has always been dabbling in multi-media.. music and video production, and I was starting to learn website creation and graphics design. So in my spare time, I began making websites for Bishamon, and Daikokuya had also emerged then. And along with that came trying photography and print work. I created Bishamon’s first photo menus.. then came advertisements, signs, flyers, etc.. it was becoming full-time work.. especially as we started stacking on more restaurants. I often worked along side the owner to help come up with ideas for the business. So I became sort of a company insider, creating my own new position that had not existed here before. Although as the company grew, I also became a bit of an outsider too since I didn’t really know everything that was going on in every location. Once I started up the facebook and twitter accounts, I found that I sometimes have to be an investigative reporter to get information lol.

I am usually always thinking of ways to upgrade and make things better than before, and that keeps me busy. Starting this blog is basically a way for me to showcase the whole company with a little more than just a short paragraph on facebook. I recently just got a new camera.. going from my old Sony R1 to a Canon 60D. So I will make use of that when I have a chance to visit our locations, and share it here with you.
