Mr. Koyama, the owner of Bishamon Group Restaurants, started as a Chef in Japan for 6 years. He was an Executive Chef and District Manager for 4 years with a company that owned a number of different styled restaurants such as: a hand-made soba restaurant, a bento catering shop, and a kaiseki restaurant (variety of elegant ceremonial-style multi-course Japanese foods).  In the United States, for the first 5 years he was manager of a Japanese sushi restaurant. Now he has been a restaurant owner since 1993.

Bishamon Japanese Restaurant in Covina was the first, opening in 1993. Bishamon offers family-style dining and a Sushi Bar. On the 2nd floor is Bishamon Karaoke Bar & Lounge 2F.

Mid-September 2011, Bishamon remodeled the dining room with a new look, and a double-size sushi bar with dual sushi chefs.

Daikokuya Ramen – Original Noodle & Rice Bowl, opened 2002 in Little Tokyo, Downtown Los Angeles. Offering an original recipe of pork ramen, and other favorite dishes. Costa Mesa DK opened in 2008. BENTO-YA Sushi & Japanese Gourmet, opened January 2006 in Arcadia. Offering Bento Boxes, Sushi, Rice Bowls, and other favorites for take-out. All made fresh when you order. I believe the history of this location used to be an old A&W long ago.

EBISU Japanese Tavern in Little Tokyo opened in July 2006. EBISU takes the theme of an old Japanese fishing village tavern. Although it is quite a large dining area, complete with a “Boat” style counter. The menu is fairly extensive offering many favorites, sushi, and izakaya style dishes. Great for groups, and also some partitioned booths if you like the feeling of some privacy.

Tamon Sushi – Lounge Ohjah on the 2nd floor of the Miyako Hotel in Little Tokyo opened in May 2007. Tamon has an elegant dining room and sushi bar. Also a private meeting room, and use of the Miyako’s banquet room for large events. A breakfast buffet every morning, and room service for hotel guests. Next door, Lounge Ohjah opens every evening, offering a full bar, appetizers, and karaoke entertainment.
